At Elmya, we are celebrating #EarthDay with an extraordinary initiative that highlights our deep commitment to the environment and sustainability. This celebration is a perfect opportunity to reflect on our responsibilities and take concrete actions that contribute to the health of the planet.
On this special occasion, several of our office colleagues equipped themselves with the necessary PPE and joined a reforestation day on the land near two of our photovoltaic projects, located in San Fernando and San José de la Rinconada (Seville). This activity was carried out alongside our construction colleagues, demonstrating the spirit of collaboration and teamwork that defines our company.
During these two intense and rewarding days, native species such as cork oaks, wild olive trees, and kermes oaks were planted. This reforestation not only beautifies the natural surroundings of our plants but also plays a crucial role in restoring local biodiversity. The planting of these trees will significantly contribute to improving the ecosystem, providing habitats for local wildlife and helping to stabilize the soil, reducing erosion, and promoting water retention.
Moreover, these reforestation actions are fundamental in the fight against climate change, as the planted trees increase the area’s carbon capture capacity. Each tree is a small yet powerful tool in our mission to mitigate the effects of climate change and protect the environment for future generations.
